THE STANDARD →

We did not just check the structure. A judge read this play against the full text of every skill it chains (composition), then ran it on a real scenario end to end (simulated). It passed both. Test scenario: Bramwell Logistics Software, a ~$200K ARR deal. AE Alex is in a bake-off against Outreach; the deal has been stalled 3 weeks with one engaged contact.

03 / WHO ELSE HAS TO MOVE

This play runs across the org, not inside sales.

Every function below owns a piece of the play. Skip one and it stalls where most GTM plays stall: in the handoff.

MARKETING
The battlecard's competitive intel, kept current

Without it: Reps fight this quarter's rival with last year's card

PRODUCT
Straight answers on real gaps against the incumbent

Without it: A rep bluffs a gap and the buyer catches it

FINANCE
Deal-desk flexibility when the incumbent cuts price

Without it: You lose on price without ever getting to value

04 / SEE IT RUN

Watch the skills answer in order.

Describe your situation in plain language. The right skill fires on its own and hands its receipt to the next.

EXAMPLE CHATAlex, an AE, running the loop in one sitting
A
I've got a deal that's been sitting a while and a competitor is in it. Can you read the account from our CRM first?
S
Step 1· Crm Analyst
Pulled a sixty-second summary, audited activity across email, calls, and meetings, and checked qualification against the stage. The deal is marked Stage 4 but only one contact is engaged and the last touch was 11 days ago.
Receipt
Account read done: stage says late, activity says single-threaded and cooling, risk flagged as stuck.
A
The competitor is Outreach. Give me a battlecard so I know where we actually win.
S
Step 2· Competitive Battlecard
Laid out where we win, the traps they'll set, and the landmines to plant early, with proof behind each so nothing is just a claim. No trashing them, just reframes that hold up.
wintime-to-value
trapseat pricing
Receipt
Battlecard with 4 win themes and 3 landmines, each backed by a proof point.
A
My main contact likes us but she's junior. How do I turn her into a real champion?
S
Step 3· Champion Plan
Scored her as a champion, she has access but not yet influence, and armed her with the internal-sell story plus a one-pager she can forward. Mapped two more threads so the deal isn't riding on her alone.
Receipt
Champion enabled with a forwardable one-pager, 2 new threads identified to multi-thread the deal.
A
Their VP of Sales wants to see the money side before he'll pick us. Build the case.
S
Step 4· Business Case
Put the cost of the problem, the value model, and the cost of inaction in his numbers, and framed it against staying on their current tool so the comparison does the selling. Assumptions flagged for his finance team.
Receipt
One-page business case in the buyer's numbers, competitive deal now leaning our way into final review.
05 / SEE IT IN PRODUCTION

Before you run it, I ran it for real.

This workflow is genericized from a real build. Here is the number it moved, and what I actually did.

THE BUILD · DEAL VELOCITY
The Deal Hub
>25%
shorter sales cycle, the late stage streamlined
Sub-45 days
SMB and Mid-Market, end to end
Sub-90 days
Enterprise, end to end
12 tabs → 1
the late-stage deal moved out of browser tabs into one hub, and discounts fell with the friction
WHAT I DID
01
One home for the deal. A hub where the proposal, the plan, and the next step lived together, so nothing had to be assembled from twelve tabs before a conversation.
02
The customer sees what is next. Instead of waiting on a forwarded email, the customer could see what happened next, which removed a whole class of stall.
03
Map the handoffs, then close each gap. I walked the late stage handoff by handoff, quote to security review to mutual plan to approval, found where each one sat waiting, and put the next step and its owner in the hub so no stage stalled on someone's inbox.

Speed in a deal is not pressure. It is removing the places a deal goes to wait. Find where your deals stall, then remove the wait, not the patience.

06 / ROLL IT OUT AND INSPECT IT · THE OTHER HALF

The battlecard is only as good as the rep mid-call

The skills hand a rep the deal read, the battlecard, the champion plan, and the business case; the bake-off turns on how the rep handles the trap the competitor planted before your call. Here is how a sales leader trains recall under pressure, not familiarity with a document.

THE FRAMEWORK BEHIND IT
The trap-and-reframe drill

Reps take the competitor's three sharpest traps in live roleplay and must land the reframe without notes. Nobody enters a bake-off until the reframes come out sounding like them, not the card.

  1. 01
Teach the tells of a wired deal

Use the crm-analyst read to train reps on the signs an incumbent wrote the requirements: a rigged scorecard, a single thread, a rushed timeline. Naming it early changes the play.

  2. 02
Run the reframe drill on a cadence

A standing weekly slot, one trap per rep, live pushback. The card updates; the reflex has to update with it.

  3. 03
    Test the champion every week

The champion-plan carries one test per week: an intro made, a document shared, a meeting they set up. A champion who never passes a test is a contact.

  4. 04
    Audit losses against the card

After every bake-off, check whether the loss matched a known trap or revealed a new one, and update the battlecard the same week. A card that does not learn is a brochure.
